The WAJE fact check: 10 facts on how you can use virtual worlds in a future-oriented way.
-
Reach: Neither the capacity of locations or hotels nor your catering budget influence the number of people who can enjoy your event. You can reach an infinite number of people digitally.
-
Development potential: Start small, gain experience and expand your world step by step. Depending on the needs of your target group and the content you want to provide. You can use your initial investment worldwide and for an unlimited period of time and the world grows with you.
-
Cost / Benefit: You can pimp a standard world a little or create your own individual world - depending on the period of use and target group. And without any additional equipment or software for the users.
-
Limits: You can build anything you can imagine. Statics? Physical laws? Budget for designer furniture? From the mountains to the beach and back to the hustle and bustle of urban life at the click of a button? None of this is a problem virtually.
-
Ecological footprint: no more justification for making 300 people travel across the country for half a day to hear the latest news from the company or to experience the fascination of the new product. Ok - servers also need energy - but in relation to the previous logistical effort, the ecological footprint is much more acceptable.
-
Innovation: Everyone is talking about digital transformation. You demonstrate walk the talk with virtual worlds. But can't you also do that with a fancy website? No, because in a virtual world you can really bundle all interactions on one platform. This reduces complexity and brings your content to your target group smartly and quickly.
-
Usability: Only nerds can do that. Nope. We have already had numerous positive experiences with people who don't see themselves as digital natives. Navigating the world is super easy. Depending on the target group, there are choreographed routes or a limitless expedition atmosphere. And if you want to be on the safe side, the tutorial is included. The only downside - the different devices and the lack of access to the software versions and configurations of the end devices don't exactly make life any easier.
-
Experience: Who doesn't like to be entertained? The combination of intelligently prepared content and atmospheric virtual backdrops is a guarantee of success for a long dwell time and high identification with the content. But admittedly, digital cannot compete with the magic of a live artist or the power of a team activity that ends around a campfire.
-
Interaction: The worlds offer more functionality than many companies currently dare to offer - unfortunately. The positive aspect is that there is still plenty of room for improvement. Especially in combination with online meetings, the simple digital event can be emotionally and interactively charged.
-
Heart factor: What do you think? By the way - our fact check goes into overtime. Do you have questions or are you unsure what a virtual world really brings you?
